Skepp o hoj! My name is Mia and I’ve been involved in The Tall Ships Races both at sea and in ports since 2011. I’m a board member and youth representative for STAS, the Swedish organization to the international parent organization Sail Training International (STI). The association is tasked with, among other things, sharing information on opportunities for young people to sail aboard the Swedish sailing ships, and organizing participation in The Tall Ships Races (TSR) for Swedish vessels.
Why I recommend sailing as a trainee in TSR:
Being a trainee is a great way to learn something new, develop your language skills and challenge yourself while getting to know people from other parts of the world. It is also an adventure that strengthens the resume as well as a summer job does and gives memories for life.
….And friends for life

… And a good dose of Vitamin Sea! It’s a powerful feeling of freedom climbing the rigging or steering the ship in the middle of the night, while seeing silhouettes of other ships in the horizon!
Fair winds to all of you,
– Mia
