Good morning everyone! I hope you all have a great weekend so far.
First of all I just want to say thank you for all the positive feedback on the previous post. It really warms my heart, and especially since this is a major passion of mine. Vitamin Sea Sail basically started as an idea back in 2017, and it finally came to life January this year. I never expected it to become noticed in the first place, but I am so happy that people from all over the world are with me on this journey. Therefore I figured out that I would share the story behind Vitamin Sea Sail and how it came to life.
(Since the story about VSS already is on the page in Norwegian, this post will be in English only! )
So as I mentioned above, Vitamin Sea Sail started as an idea back in 2017, when the municipality of Stavanger (Norway) were sending 50 young people from all over the county to the Tall Ships Races the same year. Vitamin Sea Sail is an initiative by me, and the main goal of the project is to give young people the opportunity to experience life at sea, in addition to spreading the word about sailing and sail training.
I myself became a student last year, and I am currently at my second year of Veterinary Medicine studies in Budapest. There is a lot of stress and responsibility that comes with being a student, which also includes the economical aspect of it. Therefore the initiative is focusing on making sailing more accessible for young people. If you have any questions about the initiative, feel free to send an email to eline.kristiansen@vitaminseasail.com.
Fair winds,
– Eline
