The initiative started out as an idea during autumn 2017, after the municipality of Stavanger sent 50 young adults from Rogaland county to the Tall Ships Races, earlier that year. The project is an initiative by Eline Bredal Kristiansen (24) who has participated in the Tall Ships Races eight times since 2011. She is currently Norway's youth representative in Sail Training International Youth Council, in which focuses on uniting youth from all over the world, through sailing. Eline currently lives in Budapest where she studies veterinary medicine.
The goal of the initiative is to give young adults the opportunity to experience life at sea, in addition to spreading the word about sailing and sail training.
